Why are we moving????

Why are we moving to Abingdon? When my grandmother was so sick and dying after living alone for so long, we traveled back and forth a lot.  We wanted to help more than we could.  Pete's dad had died in February of that year (2018), and Grandmother fell and broke her arm while Andrew was going through all of his strenuous and exhausting testing at Duke for his brain surgery.  Pete's mom starting living with us full-time soon after his dad died.  We were thankful for all of the family who helped - those local and those who traveled a great distance.   We realized we wanted to make our way back to family and help more, but our boys needed us still. Then Peter moved to Colorado and got married, Andrew moved to an apartment, and Will got married and moved to Wilkesboro!  Andrew promised he would come and see me a lot if I moved (yes, Andrew, you promised!), so we started thinking about moving.  Selling our house.  We started working on house...
We closed today!  Well...almost!  We have to wait for some final papers to be filed in the morning!  And then the cute little house will be ours! The house is over 80 years old and has been in the same family until now.  We love the history and cannot wait to work on keeping its charm while updating it and making it into what we need! My favorite colors are blue and white!  With a little yellow or green or other color thrown in.  What did I ever do without Pinterest! We hope to go back in a few days and get some kitchen measurements to take to kitchen designers, measure for wallpaper for the front hall, measure for some bath vanities, and decide how to build a shed dormer on the back; so we can add two full baths!  We need to see if matching hardwood floors are under the old linoleum in the kitchen, so we will know if we need floors there or not!  Other than the kitchen and bathrooms and any additions, the hardwood floors are in great shape ...

Still waiting to close...

We hope to close on our little house this week!  It's been a very trying process with not very good communication and errors here and there!  I am not sure who the problem is, but we hope it will be resolved this week!  We are trying to be patient, but it seems like we wait and wait for the phone to ring from contractors or the lawyer's office; and we end up having to call them back! I will share pictures and start sharing our process as soon as I can!
